5 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT REMBRANDT
Rembrandt is a Dutch painter born in 1606. He is one of the greatest representatives of European Baroque art.
His work is essentially composed of portraits, offering a realistic view of the Dutch bourgeoisie of his time.
He became the master of chiaroscuro, originally made by Caravaggio. This technique is characterized by a play between light and shadow, attracting the eye to the most illuminated areas.
Rembrandt focuses on the details of the faces and postures of the characters to accentuate the transcribed emotions.
Rembrandt’s style is unique and easily recognizable. However, a few years ago, researchers discovered that part of his work was painted by his apprentices.
